Anger Management
About
Family Life Center's Anger Management program is a 12 week group process that is both educational and psychotherapeutic in nature. Two important concepts covered are: power and control vs. equality, and aggression vs. assertiveness. The core of the program is learning two proven, effective techniques to manage anger and it's accompanying behaviors. Multiple learning styles will be used, including: video, handouts, lecture, role playing, and reflection. The groups will be co-facilitated and limited to 8-12 members. An evaluative process will be used to demonstrate change.
Program Goals
To assess individual needs and scope of problem for purpose of treatment planning.
To help people access personal responsibility for emotions and actions and to stop violent and aggressive behavior.
To target specific problem areas, patterns, and triggers.
To learn to internalize at least two different approaches to manage anger and skill development.
To heal relationships and more effectively cope with internal and external relating and functioning.
